RANDY RUHLMAN DOUBLES UP AT ROAD AMERICA
SETS FASTEST TIME IN SECOND-ROUND PRACTICE
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (Aug. 19, 2005) -- Randy Ruhlman set his second fast time of the day Friday afternoon at Road America, during second-round practice for Sunday's Rumble at the Road. The Trans-Am points leader, driving the No. 49 Preformed Line Products Chevrolet Corvette, turned in a 2:10.549-minute lap (111.412 miles per hour) around the 4.048-mile track.
Rookie of the Year points leader Klaus Graf (No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR) was second quickest, nearly a half of a second back, ahead of Tomy Drissi (No. 5 Transporter 2 -- The Movie Jaguar XKR). Michael Lewis (No. 12 Autocon Engineering Jaguar XKR) and Greg Pickett (No. 6 Cytomax/Muscle Milk Jaguar XKR) completed the top five.
Qualifying for the Rumble at the Road, Round 8 and the penultimate round of the 2005 Trans-Am Championship, is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:55 a.m. CDT. Sunday's race, which is scheduled to start at 10:20 a.m., will air on a tape-delayed basis, Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. EDT on SPEED Channel.
