TONY "HUNT"ING FOR ANDERSON VICTORY SATURDAY
Defending Valvoline USAC Western Sprint Car Champion Tony Hunt of Fair Oaks, Calif. is seeking his first victory of the 2005 campaign this Saturday as the series returns to Shasta Speedway in Anderson, Calif. for a program originally rained out in April.
Consistent finishes have kept Tony in the "hunt" for a repeat championship. He has finished no worse than fifth in this year's five outings, scoring two second sin the last three races.
No driver has been able to repeat as a winner so far in 2005. Race winners have included Kody Swanson (second in points), Tim Barber (third), Brian McClish (sixth), Cody Veenstra (eighth) and Michael Lewis.
A 40-lap race tops Saturday's program of events at the 1/3-mile paved oval where Bud Kaeding holds the 1-lap track record of 13.505 seconds. Barber won last year's Western Sprint race at Adnerson.
