INDIANAPOLIS - The USAC Western Sprint Car Series will see action for the first time in nearly a month Saturday when the series races at Tucson Raceway Park in Tucson, Ariz.
Jeff Gardner of Fresno, Calif. looks to overtake points leader Michael Lewis of Noblesville, Ind. at the 3/8-mile. Lewis gained the point lead after scoring a wire-to-wire victory May 17 at Stockton 99 Speedway in Stockton, Calif. Gardner trails Lewis by only 18 points after two races.
Kasey Kahne of Huntersville, N.C. won the last USAC Western Sprint Car Series race at Tucson, winning the "Old Pueblo Classic" November 23.
Practice is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., with qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
