McLean to Start 28th in Clipsal 500
Cameron McLean qualified the V.I.P. Pet Foods Falcon in 28th place today for the opening round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series in Adelaide - and then went back to the workshop in search of a handling malaise.
"It feels like two cars; the front and the back aren't connected. I'm very disappointed because we had hoped for a lot better and possibly even the top 15 shootout," McLean said after qualifying for the two-leg Clipsal 500.
"Tonight we'll be working to see if we can improve the cornering balance and hope to make some progress in the race.
"The fact it's a 250 km race tomorrow makes the situation not as bad as it could be. We'll have plenty of opportunity to move through the field if our strategy is good and if other cars are forced to withdraw."
In addition to V.I.P. Pet Foods, the Paragon Motorsport Ford Falcon V8 Supercar is sponsored by All Power Steering, Eibach Springs, Freightliner Trucks, Jade Engineering, PPG Paints, Revolution Racegear, Screen Offset Printing, Snap-on Tools, Spandex, Street Smart Designs, Wurth and Cox Lawn Care Products.
