SEAT claims top four grid positions

Once again, the excellent team work of all SEAT Sport drivers and engineers has born fruit and the SEAT Leon TDI were able to claim the top four positions of the grid after the qualifying session for the first race of the World Championship to be held tomorrow in Cheste (Valencia). Gabriele Tarquini took the pole, followed by Yvan Muller, Jordi Gene and Tiago Monteiro, with Rickard Rydell on ninth position and Tom Coronel, the first privateer, on seventh at the wheel of his petrol-powered SEAT Leon.

The bad results at the recent race in Pau reduced the ballast of the SEAT Leon TDI significantly, allowing the team to find a competitive set-up for their cars, at least for the qualifying session.

This spectacular result would have been impossible without the excellent job of all the team members during both free practice sessions held today. The set-up of the Leon TDI provided the drivers with a perfectly balanced car during the qualifying session and their mutual co-operation made the rest, bringing SEAT back onto the pole position of a world championship event.
