Ricci Scores Another Top Six Qualifying at the Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton
Giacomo Ricci #18 Banca Italease / Lotto / Global / Mazda-Cosworth
"I think that I could have had a better result today and I'm looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow," said Ricci. "I just now have to work on my plans for the first race tomorrow, many teams used two sets of new tires and we only used one and this is good for me. I ran into a little bit of traffic during the session today but I had good grip on the track today and I feel I can have a strong first race of this double-header weekend. Sixth position is not bad but we'll see what happens tomorrow and what we can do during the second qualifying and first race."
Matt Lee #44 Integrated Structures / Mazda - Cosworth
"It was unfortunate that I hit the wall in the last few minutes of this qualifying session," said Lee. "As time went on, the track got better and the fuel load got lighter and I think that my lap time could have improved if I would have been there to the end."
Steve Ragan, Conquest Racing Atlantic Team Manager
"Giacomo did once again quite a good job today and I think he has a pretty good car," said Steve Ragan, Conquest Racing Atlantic Team Manager. "It is a shame that Matt had another accident which cost him a better starting position for race one. He has some good references with his team mate and he is certainly capable of doing better tomorrow."
