TOP 3 FOR MI-JACK CONQUEST RACING ATLANTIC TEAM IN FIRST-ROUND QUALIFYING FOR FAST TRAC 100
Houston, Texas, May 11, 2006 -- Mi-Jack Conquest Racing's (MJCR) Graham Rahal was third after first-round qualifying for the Fast Trac 100 at the Grand Prix of Houston. Rahal, who was second in the first practice session, posted a lap of 1:05.581 (93.144 mph) on the 1.69-mile street course at Reliant Park to secure his third place on the provisional grid. Al Unser III, Rahal's teammate at MJCR, got caught in traffic and ended the session in 19th place with a time of 1:07.184 (90.557 mph) after placing 13th in the earlier practice session.
3rd - Graham Rahal #18 Gehl Company
"It's a good circuit, pretty difficult, especially with the sun going down during our qualifying session. I had problems seeing in some areas because the sun was blinding us, despite that, we had a successful session and that's what counts. The car was running well, the team did a great job and we'll try to do even better tomorrow."
19th -- Al Unser III #30 200+MMP
"We had a better practice than qualifying session today. During qualifying I was trying to get a fast lap in but got caught in traffic, the slower cars on the track were really a factor today. I know we will be able to do better tomorrow and move the car up the grid."
