Conquest Racing Atlantic Long Beach Grand Prix Second Round Qualifying Report

Long Beach, California, April 14, 2007- Conquest Racing produced their first top-ten starting position of the season in the final qualifying round this afternoon in Long Beach, California. Conquest drivers Giacomo Ricci and Matt Lee both improved their position finishing respectively 6th and 12th. Italian driver Ricci ran close to the top for the majority of the session with American driver Lee not far behind. Both drivers felt good throughout the session and the team is working toward two top-ten finishes in the race tomorrow.

6th - Giacomo Ricci #18 Mazda-Cosworth/Swift/Cooper

"The balance of the car was good today. Compared to the race last weekend in Las Vegas, we have made a lot of improvements to the set up and I have adjusted better to the team. I am happy with my position today and I know tomorrow we will have a solid race as well."

12th - Matt Lee #44 Mazda-Cosworth/Swift/Cooper

"The car was a little better today than yesterday and I was able to keep it on the track. It was unfortunate because I was not able to get a good lap in with the red flags and I was not able to maximize my new tires. Tomorrow I am hoping for a clean race, a solid finish and no pit stops!"

After a 15-minute morning warm-up beginning at 8 a.m. PT Sunday morning, Round 2 of the 2007 Atlantic Championship will begin with a green-flag standing start at 10:35 a.m.
