KATHERINE LEGGE IN THE TOP THREE AT FUNDIDORA PARK

PKV Racing-backed driver Katherine Legge set third fastest time (1'27.967) during the first qualifying session for Round 2 of 2005 Toyota Atlantic Championship to be held at Fundidora Park in Monterrey, Mexico.

"It was very challenging. The track is very technical and I like it. We have been working on getting as much grip as possible because the track is very slippery and the car developed oversteer. I know, it's the same for everybody, but we keep working to improve our performance under these conditions," Legge said.

Jim Griffith, team owner/engineer: "It was a good session. She is still learning how to qualify and how to use the tires in qualifying. Unfortunately, she caught traffic and I told her 'just one perfect lap.' While she was doing her fastest lap, which was her very last one she said she was doing "the perfect one" and went off. However, she was able to make it in the top three."
