Sciuto Finishes 6th in Rain-Delayed Montreal Atlantic Race
Bremer finishes 14th in Atlantic series return
Montreal, Quebec, Canada (August 28, 2006) -- In a race delayed a day due to inclement weather, Polestar Racing Group's Alan Sciuto (#12 Sealy/PKV Racing/The RoomStore of Phoenix/W.S. Deans) finished sixth today in Montreal to claim his seventh top-ten result of the 2006 Champ Car Atlantic season. Teammate Ronnie Bremer (#21 The RoomStore of Phoenix), who made a one-race return to Atlantic competition this weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, finished 14th in an action-packed, but caution-free race.
"We had a good race and a pretty decent car," said Sciuto, who started from the seventh position. "We were getting pulled on the straight-aways and I think that held us back a little. We had a full dry set-up on while some of the other guys seemed to be on more of an intermediate set-up. But, the team did a great job. Once again, Polestar gave me a solid car and we didn't have any problems all weekend."
"The race was good in the beginning when the track was still pretty wet," said Bremer, who set the second-fastest time in this morning's warm-up. "We moved up a few positions right away, but once the track started to dry, we couldn't find a line where we could get any traction. It just got worse as the track continued to dry and we fell back a couple of spots. But, I enjoyed being back this weekend and want to thank Polestar for this opportunity."
Bremer, 27, of Copenhagen, Denmark, competed in six events each with HVM, then Dale Coyne Racing in the 2005 Champ Car World Series. He captured the Polestar team's first Atlantic victory in 2004 at Denver and posted ten top-ten finishes in his rookie Atlantic season to finish fifth overall.
Sciuto, 18, again leads the Polestar charge at the Atlantic season finale at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on September 22-24. Today's race will be televised via SPEED on Sunday, September 3 at 1:00 PM ET.
