BARCELONA TEST REPORT

28~29TH APRIL 1998 _________________________________________________________________ Drivers Alexander Wurz : Tuesday / Wednesday Giancarlo Fisichella : Wednesday Today the Mild Seven Benetton Playlife team completed their second day of testing in Spain. Yesterday Giancarlo did not run, his neck being still sore following his accident in San Marino on Sunday. In the morning Alex concentrated on set up work aimed at improving the mechanical grip and tired different aero packages in the afternoon. This morning Giancarlo was able to sit in the car and work on general car set up. However, as he started some work on front suspension settings, he suffered a high speed shunt at the end of the straight. Giancarlo walked out of the accident but the chassis was damaged and it is unlikely that he will be able to continue testing tomorrow. Alexander worked on general set up in the morning and on a tyre programme in the afternoon. Bad weather conditions hampered the end of today's test and it looks like the track will be very wet tomorrow. 28 April Pos Driver Best Lap Laps 1 Hakkinen 1'22.96 51 2 Coulthard 1'23.41 78 3 Panis 1'23.56 24 4 Wurz 1'23.78 50 5 R.Schumacher 1'24.15 40 6 Frentzen 1'24.20 49 7 Alesi 1'24.28 24 8 Badoer 1'24.60 50 9 Takagi 1'24.94 10 10 Della Rosa 1'25.01 44 29 April Pos Driver Best Lap Laps 1 Coulthard 1'22.73 23 2 Hakkinen 1'22.89 74 3 M.Schumacher 1'23.26 37 4 Frentzen 1'23.93 52 5 Alesi 1'23.95 37 6 Hill 1'24.21 68 7 Fisichella 1'24.22 33 8 Wurz 1'24.25 65 9 R.Schumacher 1'24.36 76 10 Takagi 1'24.49 30 11 Panis 1'24.51 36 12 Irvine 1'24.72 33 13 Muller 1'24.78 27 14 Herbert 11'25.35 10 15 Nakano 1'25.88 26 16 Magnussen 1'25.99 52 17 Rosset 1'26.02 30 18 Barrichello 1'26.18 24 19 Redon 1'26.84 19
