Today's free practice session provided the Orange Arrows team with some beneficial time to develop car set-up for this weekend's race, following last week's test where Jos particularly, was unable to run many laps. Pedro finished the practice session in 16th after completing 30 laps and a best lap time of 1:18.862, with Jos in 19th position after a lap time of 1:19.550 and 22 laps.
Pedro de la Rosa:
"It was quite a good day for us. We tried plenty of car set-ups and
possibilities and that's it basically. I didn't expect much from
today really because it always depends on fuel and tyres but it was a good
day and we were able to get a lot of good information. I'm just looking
forward to tomorrow really".
Jos Verstappen:
"It was a very hard session for us because I didn't drive the car
very much last week so we had to learn a lot about the car today for this
circuit. As well, on the first run on the new tyres we had an oil leak so I
had to come in, but after one run the grip level goes down very quickly on
this circuit. We are getting the car better and better all the time so just
need to get the car ready for tomorrow".
Tom Walkinshaw:
"Today's session wasn't brilliant in terms of the lap times, but
the team were able to gain some good information for car set-up on this
circuit and that's what counts in qualifying and the race".
