GERMAN GRAND PRIX RACE RESULTS - 2nd AUGUST 1998

The Danka Zepter Arrows Team enjoyed mixed blessings at the German Grand Prix, with Mika Salo passing the finishing line in 14th position and Pedro Diniz retiring from a throttle problem on lap two. Mika Salo fought hard to improve his starting position of 17th on the grid and managed to pass Takagi on the last lap, but losing third gear in the next corner and therefore his improved position again.

Pedro Diniz: " I was disappointed to finish the race prematurely with a throttle problem. The team worked very hard to find the right set-up for the race, but it was not to be. I will put this behind me and look forward to the Hungarian Grand Prix, where I am sure we will be more competitive. "

Mika Salo: " I had a good race in the first stages mainly with Verstappen who I tried to pass on several occasions, however, I was slower on the straights. My pitstop wasn't very good. I had a clutch problem and when I rejoined I was racing against Tagaki. During the last lap I caught him but the following corner was overtaken again, which was disappointing for me. Otherwise I am happy with my race - I was flat out from start to finish, no mistakes at all. "
