Jordan has announced 21 year-old Timo Glock as its third driver for Friday practices at Grand Prix weekends. The German initially competed in the BMW Formula ADAC series for two years then finished third in International F3 in 2002. Last year he raced in the F3 Euro series and tested for Jordan at Barcelona and Silverstone over the winter.

"I'm very happy and proud that I can be part of Jordan Ford with a place in Formula One for the 2004 season," said Glock. "I thank the Jordan technical staff who made it possible for me to give a good performance at the Barcelona and Silverstone testing sessions recently. We have worked together successfully already and I'm looking forward to a fantastic time with them this year."

Team boss Eddie Jordan commented: "Timo Glock is one of the most promising young driving talents in Germany at the moment and I'm delighted that we are able to offer him a regular F1 testing role. He's come up through the junior categories quickly and this will give him an invaluable opportunity to learn every Grand Prix circuit on the calendar."

"It's a perfect training ground and will also help the team in terms of having another car's data to assist with our preparation for each race. Timo has really impressed our engineers with his testing feedback and we are now hoping to guide him through this next stage of his career with the ultimate aim for him to become a Grand Prix driver of the future."

Jordan now has a complete line up for 2004, race drivers Nick Heidfeld and Giorgio Pantano being confirmed recently. Glock will be familiar with some faces already in F1, as he competed against Toyota test driver Ryan Briscoe and Jaguar rookie Christian Klien in Euro F3.
