The Benson and Hedges Jordan team commenced a three day test at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona today with Ralf Schumacher and test driver Pedro de la Rosa performing the driving duties. Weather conditions were dry and sunny all day with the air temperature being 22°C, but with a cool wind blowing. Ralf Schumacher completed a total of 78 laps of testing with a best lap time of 1 min 24.16 secs on standard spec tyres. Throughout the morning Ralf concentrated on development of chassis set-up and balance.. For the afternoon session Ralf carried out a tyre test for Goodyear.

Pedro de la Rosa completed a total 69 laps of testing with a best lap time of 1 min 24.97 secs. During the morning session Pedro carried out engine mapping for Mugen-Honda and concentrated on balance of the chassis for the afternoon session.

Damon Hill will join Ralf Schumacher for testing tomorrow, Honda scholarship driver Yuichi Wakisaka will join Damon for driving duties on Thursday.
