Team boss Frank Williams has expressed concern that Ralf Schumacher may not be fit for the US Grand Prix at Indianapolis in two weeks time. Schumacher was withdrawn from this weekend's Italian GP after feeling unwell following Friday's practice and qualifying and replaced by team test driver Marc Gen?.

Ralf rolled his car during testing at Monza but was cleared to race this weekend on Thursday. However, it seems the after effects of concussion are still bothering the German. "I saw Ralf after qualifying (Friday) and I said 'Ralf, you look like death, please go home and go to bed,'" said Williams. "There is a concern he might not have recovered by Indianapolis. It is frustrating but we will just have to live with it if it happens."

Meanwhile, Gen? is doing a good job and qualified fifth for the race in Saturday's session. "I hope I can support the team here in their battle for the Championship and I am sure that Ralf will be okay for the next race," said the Spaniard. Juan Pablo Montoya was impressed with Gen?'s effort: "Marc did an amazing job especially as he started first, and the track improved a lot during the session," he commented.

Schumacher's title hopes have disappeared with his withdrawal from Monza but Montoya is still very much in the fight, as is Williams for the Constructors' title. Gen? is ready to do his best to help: "It is very clear," he said. "Even if I would be on the podium and Juan is fourth, I wouldn't even think about it to be honest. Points are too expensive at the moment for him."
