Sauber Italian GP preview

Willy Rampf (Technical Director) : "Monza demands very high top speed - the highest we see all season - and very little downforce. Nick and Kimi will reach more than 350 kmh on the main straight. The autodromo requires the longest full-throttle driving they will do all year. They are flat all the way from the Ascari chicane down the back straight to the entry to the Parabolica. Then on the exit of that corner they get back flat on the throttle as they go past the pits and all the way to the first chicane. "It's a power circuit of course, and that places heavy loads on the engine and also on the brakes. The Petronas V10 is powerful and very reliable and the Red Bull Sauber Petronas C20 has been very quick during the tests here in its low downforce configuration. "The car always looks strong on such tracks, so we are hoping for a very competitive performance further to enhance our fourth position in the World Championship for Constructors.

"Nick Heidfeld (30 GPs, 11 World Championship points): "Monza is a good circuit, the sort that I really like. The Red Bull Sauber Petronas C20 has gone very well there in the testing we have done this year, so I believe that we can be very competitive this weekend."

Kimi Räikkönen (14 GPs, 9 World Championship points): "Monza is not a particularly difficult circuit, and I like its high-speed nature. I think the car will go very well there, so I'm looking forward to scoring some more World Championship points."
