Super Aguri F1 Team joined the official test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain today, just one week before the vibrant city of Barcelona plays host to the fourth round of the 2007 FIA Formula One World Championship.

Takuma Sato was in the driving seat of the SA07-02 today and commenced the testing of a gearbox upgrade and a number of new aero elements. Good track and weather conditions meant that the team was able to complete the analysis of a number of aero iterations in the morning.

A blustery wind picked up on-track in the afternoon, however the Super Aguri F1 Team observed good reliability from the new parts tested and was able to gather significant data, ending the days running having completed a total of 98 laps. Taku set the second fastest time of the day -- a 1:21.858.

Taku will continue to drive on Day 2 of the team's proposed three-day test, with Anthony Davidson scheduled to drive on the final day.

Driver: Takuma Sato
Chassis: SA07-02
No. of Laps: 98
Best Lap Time: 1:21:858
