Improved weather conditions allowed BMW WilliamsF1 Team test driver, Marc Gené, to continue the team's preparations for the Malaysian Grand Prix at Valencia today. Following yesterday's heavy rainstorms, conditions were much improved today, with temperatures reaching 20°C.

Marc continued with the dry testing programme he was forced to abandon yesterday, when a sudden downpour brought the BMW WiliamsF1 Team's scheduled programme to a halt.

The Spaniard completed 61 laps, setting a personal best time of 1:10.248, just 0.050s off his previous best, which he posted in late January.

Tim Newton (Test Team Manager, WilliamsF1):

"Once again, Marc Gené was in the cockpit of the FW26 at a sunny Valencia today. We spent the second day of the test doing some traction control work as well as completing set-up evaluations for Malaysia. Antonio Pizzonia will replace Marc tomorrow for the last day of the test."

Testing continues tomorrow, with Antonio Pizzonia taking over from Marc. This is the last day of testing before the BMW WilliamsF1 Team heads to Malaysia for the second round of the 2004 Formula One World Championship.
