Tech 1 Racing against Koiranen Bros Motorsport

Kevin Korjus (Koiranen Bros Motorsport) has already taken the Drivers title in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 at just 17 years old. A few days before getting to know what it's like to drive in the Formula Renault 3.5, the Estonian will come to Barcelona in a relaxed mood. On the other hand, the battle for the honorary 'runner-up' title between Arthur Pic (Tech 1 Racing) and Luciano Bacheta (Interwetten) is far from over. There's still everything to play for in the Teams title, even if Tech Racing 1 has a good lead over Koiranen Bros Motorsport.

The verdict for the Drivers category has already come down. Silverstone has seen Kevin Korjus become the youngest winner of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 at just 17 years old. The Estonian was not necessarily a favourite before the season started, but since the opening round in Motorland Aragon, he has made his ambitions very clear, with two victories. Since then, Kevin Korjus has proven to be not only very quick but also a masterful manager of race pressure. The result - with seven victories, ten podiums, four pole positions and finishing thirteen out of fourteen races in the points, he has taken the title before even coming to the Barcelona finale.

So Kevin does not just have his first chance to drive in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in Motorland Aragon on October 20th, he'll also be walking away with ^a500,000 to take part in next season's Formula Renault 3.5 Series.

Although he has already been crowned champion, Kevin Korjus will be a serious candidate for victory in Barcelona, as the Teams title is yet to be decided. He and his Koiranen Bros Motorsport teammates will be trying to turn the tables, with Tech 1 Racing well on their way to clinching the Teams title right from its first year in the category, with a 30 point lead.

Second place in the overall Driver classification is also still up for grabs; there are just seven points separating Arthur Pic and Luciano Bacheta. While the Frenchman treaded water at Silverstone, finishing 7th and 8th after qualifying, the British driver finished 4th and 2nd. He is aiming to continue this streak in Spain, but Arthur Pic has other ideas. Along with Kevin Korjus, the drivers in 2nd and 3rd place will also be invited aboard Formula Renault 3.5 by Renault Sport Technologies during the October 20 collective testing sessions.

For many drivers, the aim is to make the most of the last round of the year to net a first victory of the season. Only five of them have tasted success in the 2010 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 - Kevin Korjus with seven victories, Arthur Pic with four victories and Luciano Bacheta, Giovanni Venturini (Epsilon Euskadi) and Javier Tarancon (Epsilon Euskadi), each with one win. Aaro Vainio (Tech 1 Racing), Andre Negrao (Cram Competition) and Bart Hylkema (Koiranen Bros Motorsport) will all be trying to get their names on this list.

At home, the Spanish drivers will of course be very hard to beat. Genis Olive (Epsilon Euskadi), back in competition after surgery on his hand following his crash in Hockenhem, Javier Tarancon (Epsilon Euskadi) and Alex Riberas (Epsilon Euskadi) will all have their hearts set on dazzling a crowd that will be firmly backing them.
