Maranello, 5 July -- Over the weekend just gone, the F430 GT2 cars entered in the Italian Gran Turismo Championship were front runners for the fourth round of the season, held at the Dino e Enzo Ferrari circuit at Imola. Winners of both races were Giuseppe Ciro and Michele Rugolo, driving for the AF Corse team.

The formidable duo, at the wheel of one of three Ferraris entered by the team from Piacenza, finished ahead of the other F430s of Emanuele Moncini-Andrea Montermini (SC Villorba Corse) and Alessandro Garofano-Niki Cadei (AF Corse) in Race 1, while in the second race, they got the better of Massimiliano Mugelli-Andrea Palma (Vittoria Competizioni) and Michael Dalle Stelle-Nicolo Valentini (Edil Cris Racing Team.) Thanks to this result, the crew of Moncini-Montermini consolidates its lead in the championship, on 90 points, 8 ahead of Mugelli-Palma and 12 in front of Garofano.

There are less than three weeks to go to the fifth round of the series, which takes place at the Mugello circuit, over the weekend of 25 July.
