Indy Lights Race results, Vancouver, Sept. 4, 1994
Pos # Name
1 3 Andre Ribeiro 2 1 Steve Robertson 3 15 Alex Padilla 4 10 Pedro Chaves 5 99 Greg Moore
I asked for the complete results from the race information booth this afternoon, but the listing I was given was nothing like the results I saw, so I'll have to wait for Tuesday's paper for the final listings.
Alex Padilla had the pole but Ribeiro passed on lap 5 and held it to the end. Roberto Quintanilla went out on turn 5 on the second lap, and Buzz Calkins went around for the last time on lap 16, dragging a big piece of bodywork under his car. The order was Ribeiro, Padilla, Robertson, Chaves, Moore, Lawson and Firestone from about lap 11 until lap 24, when Robertson passed Padilla. Then Lawson and Moore both passed Chaves on lap 23 or 24, and on lap 27, Lawson got by Moore and Firestone passed Chaves.
There was a full course yellow from laps 31 to 34, and there was some question as to whether Robertson had passed Padilla under an earlier yellow flag. On lap 34, Bob Dorricott, Jr collided, and Jack Miller tangled with Trevor Siebert on turn 5, blocking Lawson for several seconds. Sohrab Amirsirdari also went off on 5 and lost his front bodywork, forcing his retirement. On lap 35, Chaves pushed Moore when they entered turn 5 but both continued unscathed, though Chaves apparently passed Moore between then and the start finish, on what turned out to be the last lap.
