WTQMA Jefferson County race two notes

No stopping Raymond at Jefferson County

Fairfield, IA (July 8, 2001) There was no stopping Mike Raymond at the Jefferson County Speedway Sunday. Raymond, who won Saturday night also, started in the fifth position and charged into the lead and never looked back.

Raymond never saw a serious challenge for the lead on his way to the win. Following Raymond were Shawn Scripter and Jeff Mallonee. Mallonee and Scripter battled through out the race but Mallonee was never able to get by.

The heat races took some ugly turns with Kenny Byrge spinning while leading in the first heat and then Danny Bradley getting upside down in the second heat while leading. The first heat went to Robbie Ray while the second heat went to Mike Raymond. Bradley was taken to the hospital after his accident for a concussion.
