YOU HAVE YOUR BEST EVER QUALIFYING RESULT AT BRISTOL AND ALMOST CAME CLOSE TO THE POLE POSITION

I didn't even look how close, but it was a good lap. Like I said, we were happy with the car today in practice. I just wanted to get a solid lap and everything in the top 15 would have been good. The car was really good the first lap and I didn't run it hard enough, so the second lap I just kind of let it go. We ran it into the corner to see if it would stick and it went right on the bottom. We're plenty happy with that. We got a good car for Sunday and that's what it's all about.

IS THERE A GROUP FROM THE JACK DANIELS GROUP HERE?

No, they're making whiskey! There's a few, there's not a whole lot. It's in Tennessee but it's a ways from here. I was just over there Wednesday and most people I talked to said they had to work.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SPEND YOUR OFF DAY?

I'm going home tonite and going quarter midget racing with my kids tomorrow. It will be a fun day, maybe.

HOW WAS QUALIFYING FOR CHEVROLET TODAY?

This is a track where qualifying doesn't matter maybe as much as other tracks because so many things can happen. To see Elliott Sadler, Rusty Wallace and Jeff Gordon at the top of the charts does not surprise us as those guys always qualify well. We're very excited about the #07 car with Dave Blaney because it's pretty much a new team, so that's nice to see. This is a track where so many things happen, it's hard to make a judgment after a qualifying session. We have some good spots for Tony Stewart and Brian Vickers, so we'll be in good shape. It is Bristol and because of that, rarely will your qualifying position have a huge impact on race finish position.
