For 2009 Formula 500 National runner-up Patrick Gallagher the 2010 Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints marked a weekend which many people will remember him by in the racing world. Gallagher would be running double duty for the weekend in not one but two formula car classes. (F500 and Formula Enterprises)

Gallagher cruised to victory in F500, over former National-champ Aaron Ellis and in Formula Enterprises was taken out in a racing incident with a car in another class while running in contention for a podium.

Gallagher set F500 pole position in convincing fashion and transferred that momentum into victory leading the majority of the race laps while pulling away from Ellis slightly each lap. In "FE," Gallagher qualified a respectable fifth in only his second time in that particular machine. A junkyard style car with mismatching body work was thrown together to make the event and it was the talented crew of Jay Motorsports preparing the vehicle. Gallagher, letting the race come to him in FE, had a racing incident that put race ending damage to his FE.

"After the strong showing in FE that ended in disappointment, it felt great to take my first win at Road America in the SCCA June Sprints. We missed this race last year with a chance at victory so I felt I had a bit of unfinished business. I feel really great right now and have to thank CTL Engineering, My Parents, Jay Motorsports and ProMotion Driver Devlopment!"

In 2009, Patrick broke on to the SCCA National scene. Moving from Karts to Cars he wasted little time garnering "Pole" position for the iconic SCCA Runoffs at Road America. His rookie car campaign saw Patrick rack up the Ohio Valley Region F500 National Championship and Ohio Valley Region Champion's Cup Award along with Rookie of the Year honors.
