USAR: 2000 purse and points fund

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - USAR President Gene Cox has announced a new purse structure and points fund to begin in the year 2000. The new purse structure is an increase of almost 23% for a 30-car field when compared to the 1999 purse. The percentage of increase will remain constant up to a 40 car field. The points fund will also increase $250,000 from $500,000 awarded in 1999 to an astonishing $750,000 for 2000. The 2000 points fund will also provide cash awards to the top 30 finishers in the final points standings up from the top 25 awarded in 1999.

"We are very pleased to announce the new purse and points fund amounts," added Cox. "USAR has enjoyed exceptional growth over the past three seasons and this is proof of the success of this young series. We have had wonderful support from great sponsors and dedication from our competitors, and because of all of these groups working as a cohesive unit to help this series grow we can reward our participants."

The Hooters Pro Cup Series will pay a minimum of $10,000 for each race winner and every competitor who qualifies and starts a Hooters Pro Cup Race in 2000 will be guaranteed $1,000 while an additional $5,000 in bonus awards will be available for each event.

The 2000 Hooters Pro Cup Series Champion will receive $250,000, an increase of $50,000 from 1999 while the 30th place finisher in the final points standings will earn a minimum of $10,000.
