FOCUSES AT CONCORD, HICKORY & PERRIS; LEWIS, WALMER 1ST AT ROSEVILLE; RAIN WINS AT CONCORD

North Carolina and California take center stage for USAC Ford Focus racing this week with events at Concord (NC) Speedway Wednesday, Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway Saturday and Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway Saturday. The Focus Young Guns will augment the racing programs at Concord and Perris.

Rain forced cancellation of Wednesday night's USAC Ford Focus and Focus Young Guns feature events at Concord Speedway. Heat races were won by Jarett Andretti and Billy Gaule (Focus) and Ryan Ayers (Focus Young Guns).

Michael J. Lewis and Keegan Walmer emerged with USAC Ford Focus feature victories in Saturday night's racing program at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. Lewis, of Laguna Beach, Calif., led the final 19 laps to win the 30-lap Western Ford Focus race in his Western Speed Racing machine over fast qualifier Garrett Peterson, Keegan Walmer, Cody Thompson and Cody Gerhardt. Walmer, of Portland, Ore., passed Brandon White on lap eight and led the final 13 laps to win the 20-lap Focus Young Guns race over Brandon White, Courtney Atkinson and Thompson.
