Ben Spies gets a special 'Texan Terror' make-over for his home race at Salt Lake City
Yamaha World Superbike rider Ben Spies was wearing a rather special pair of boots and a unique one off helmet as he stormed to a double victory in the Salt Lake City sunshine for the US round of the World Superbike Championship.
The helmet and boot art was created by legendary helmet artist Aldo Drudi of Drudi Performance, known globally for his incredible designs on Moto GP rider Valentino Rossi's lids. The helmet design incorporated some of the Texan flag seen on Spies' bike and also featured the very appropriate slogan 'Texan Terror' on the back of the helmet. An apt expression considering the ruthless way he dealt with the competition on race day in America.
