A1GP Fans to Vote for their Winners

London, Great Britain. The A1GP World Cup of Motorsport fans are being given their chance to vote for their personal choice of winners from the 2008/09 season. All they have to do is visit the series web site, www.A1GP.com and decide who they think deserves the accolade in each of the listed categories.

The annual A1GP end-of-season awards are a chance to reward the outstanding performances of the season, and not just those who finished at the top of the points' tables. The teams and drivers are all keen for your votes which will be the culmination for them of a hard, action packed season of racing.

The gongs are usually determined by an impartial expert A1GP panel, but this year -- through A1GP.com -- the series is giving fans from around the globe the chance to pick the winners of four awards for Season Four.

While we already know A1 Team Ireland, A1 Team Switzerland and A1 Team Portugal are the gold, silver and bronze medal winners this season, these awards showcase different skills. A1GP and a panel of experts have made a short list for each category, but the ultimate winners will be decided by the fans. The awards up for grabs are Best New Driver, Best Overtaking Move of the Season, Most Improved Team and A1GP.com Readers Favourite Team. For full details on the awards, who is nominated and how to vote, visit A1GP.com. Voting closes on Friday 5 June 2009.

Plans are well advanced for the first visit of the series to the famous streets of Surfers Paradise in Queensland, Australia on October 22-25. and volunteers are required for the Nitro SuperGP. There are a large range of positions available, which are suitable for people of all ages, from a fire marshal to pit lane marshal, corporate usher and building official.

"Positions, time schedules and requirements vary, so whether you are 16 or 60, a first-time volunteer or a veteran, we are sure to have something to suit you," said Nitro SuperGP Ticketing and Accreditation Manager Jayne Graham.

"There are many benefits to being involved in the team, including official 2009 Nitro SuperGP Shirts and Cap, access to the event for you and a friend, some meals and drinks, free public transport to the event, as well as a participation certificate and an invitation to the exclusive volunteers after party.

"Volunteers will also have the opportunity to win Course Car rides, helicopter rides and other wonderful prizes, both during and after the event."

To learn more and to apply to be a volunteer, head to the official event website, www.supergp.com. Applications close on September 30, 2009.
