DETROIT (November 19, 1999) - Champ Car racing fans now have an even wider variety of CART FedEx Championship Series collectible racing memorabilia. ROOX(tm) Corporation is joining with CART Licensed Products, the licensing and merchandising arm of Championship Auto Racing Teams, to produce and distribute a line of trading cards and novelty items with CART team and driver images.
The announcement was made by Dean Running, Licensing Director of CART Licensed Products. "CART Licensed Products is thrilled to have ROOX Sports become part of the CLP licensed team," he said. "The ROOX product line is the perfect fit and assortment for CART's fans. ROOX Sports provides a unique line of licensed motorsports products, in both the stationery and collectible category. CART and CART Licensed Products look forward to building a long and successful partnership with ROOX Sports."
Product distribution outlets will include race-track merchandise vendors and shops, toy stores, sporting good and card shops as well as online, via the CART.com and the ROOX.com web sites in early 2000. ROOX(tm) Corporation was established by Nicholas Zegarac in 1989. He pursued a life-long dream of starting a specialized printing company, which today is a leader in the industry.
"We are extremely excited to enter into a partnership with CART and we look forward to producing trading cards, wall calendars, greeting cards, and photos for CART's loyal fans across the country," stated Kevin O'Neil, vice president of ROOX.
The ROOX(tm) Corporation, located in East Moline, Ill., will distribute the trading cards and novelty items under the brand name of ROOX Sports. CART joins a list of sports properties that ROOX is affiliated with, including the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, the National Professional Soccer League, Minor League Baseball, and the National Lacrosse League.
