DEARBORN, Mich., September 1, 1999 - Team Ford Racing, a national fan club for Ford Racing enthusiasts wholly supported and sponsored by Ford Motor Company, debuted today with the unveiling of the Team Ford Racing web site (www. teamfordracing.com).

The most comprehensive racing fan club ever offered by an automobile manufacturer, Team Ford Racing is designed to provide inside access to the Ford Racing program and a virtual clubhouse for Ford Racing fans to express and enhance their affinity for Ford and their favorite sport.

"Both literally and figuratively, Team Ford Racing will bring its members inside the paddock, where they can get up close to the racing action," said Torrey Galida, global marketing manager for Ford Racing Technology. "As Ford Motor Company, we can give fans opportunities and access they won't find anywhere else."

Team Ford Racing is open to fans of all racing series. The members-only web site (www.teamfordracing.com) provides Ford Racing news from special track-side correspondents in NASCAR Winston Cup, CART FedEx Championship, FIA Formula One, and NHRA Drag Racing within hours after the checkered flag drops. Notes, quotes, and photographs will be available on a daily basis.

In addition, Team Ford Racing will conduct members-only on-line chats with Ford's current racing heroes and personnel, host special members-only events at races, and sponsor sweepstakes for attractive memorabilia. Tickets to select races also will be made available for purchase, as well as exclusive Team Ford Racing apparel and merchandise.

The 2000 Daytona 500 will feature the first Team Ford Racing trackside event. The club has 1,000 tickets to the annual NASCAR Winston Cup opener, one of the toughest tickets in all of American sports. Members will sit in a Team Ford Racing grandstand and enjoy the Team Ford Racing pre-race hospitality area.

"The unique advantage we have over other automotive manufacturers is that Ford competes in more major racing series around the world than anyone else," said Galida. "We have behind-the-scenes information and access that others can't get."

Inside the Oval, a monthly Team Ford Racing newsletter, will keep members abreast of those 'behind-the-scenes' anecdotes from inside the Ford Racing program, and provide updates on the TFR Crew Member program. Crew Members are sponsor partners such as Polaris, Hertz, and Ford Quality Care, who have offered special promotions and discounts only for Team Ford Racing members.

Fans may join Team Ford Racing today by logging on to www.teamfordracing.com, or by calling 1-877-TFR-CLUB. Annual membership costs $34.95.
