K&N FILTERS TO SPONSOR SPORT TWINS

TORONTO, Ont. (June 18) - K&N Filters will sponsor the new Sport Twins class in this year's Parts Canada Superbike Championship. The category will be known as the K&N Filters' Sport Twins division.

Based in Riverside, Calif., K&N Engineering, Inc. DBA: K&N Filters, is the inventor and leading innovator of reusable cotton gauze filter technology for Powersports and automotive applications. K&N maintains a stocking catalogue of over 5,000 part numbers, including an extensive line of factory replacement drop-in filters, Performance Intake Systems, and its line of innovative "Wrench-Off" performance oil filters.

The K&N Sport Twins class is similar to the now defunct Thunder class in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship and Moto-ST endurance series in the U.S. It is open to liquid-cooled twin cylinder motorcycles producing no more than 75 horsepower and air-cooled twins of up to 90 horsepower. As with all national classes, horsepower is regulated by the official series Dynojet Dynamometer.

Rob Busby of Brantford, Ont. won the opening round of the 2010 K&N Filters' Sport Twins season at Circuit ICAR, near Montreal, on board a Buell XB12R.

"We are very happy to have a company with the stature and history of K&N Filters supporting our racing series," said Colin Fraser of Professional Motorsports Productions, which organizes the Parts Canada Superbike Championship. "The K&N Filters' Sport Twins class provides an opportunity for a variety of motorcycles to battle for a national number one plate and we think the excitement of this series will grow from round to round over the 2010 season."

The Parts Canada Superbike Championship, along with the K&N Filters' Sport Twins class, resumes at Calgary's Race City Motorsport Park with a doubleheader weekend June 25-27. The series then moves on to doubleheaders at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ont. July 9-11 and Atlantic Motorsport Park, near Halifax, Aug. 6-8.
