Verstappen feeling the heat in FP2
Verstappen: “Oh my ass is really warm now!”
Raikkonen after a scruffy lap in Q2
Raikkonen: “Hey I ****! ****! Can we do another lap or not?”
Team: “Not in this session, Kimi.”
Raikkonen: ********
Team: “So we’ll be boxing this lap. Don’t worry we’re through anyway, Kimi.”
Bottas after claiming pole in qualifying
Team: “And that’s pole, good effort.”
Bottas: “Yeah! Yes!”
Another issue for Raikkonen on the starting grid
Team: “OK Kimi I’ll go through the normal stuff in a second but just to bring you up to speed where we are, the reason why all the fuss earlier was we saw an issue with the telemetry signal being a bit weak so we’re worried we might lose telemetry in the race. We did then have problems connecting to the car but that seems to have resolved itself. So the only thing to remind you of in the event we do have a problem with telemetry is to look after your fuel. You’ve got your display, you know how to use it.”
Vandoorne reports his lap 1 incident on team radio
Vandoorne: ”I got..I got squeezed.”
Team: “Copy, is the car OK?”
Vandoorne “No!”
Magnussen was also forced to retire the car after the three-way crash
Magnusson: “My suspension is gone. Do you want to stop on the track?”
Team: “OK, OK.”
Ocon also suffered a DNF, his first in F1, after a separate contact with Grosjean
Team: “If you can drive back it would be very slowly back.”
Ocon: “I’m not sure I can. Should I try?”
Team: “Yes. I can’t tell what the car’s like from here. OK park it, find a safe place, turn the engine off."
Verstappen is asked about track conditions after opening lap incidents
Team: “How are the track conditions, Max?”
Verstappen: “Yeah, sunny.”
Team: “Yeah, any more debris left?”
Verstappen: “Hehehe, no!”
Alonso enquires about gap to Massa
Alonso: “Gap to Massa every lap!”
Team: “Last lap 2.8s, Perez 6.7s.”
Alonso: “Perez I don’t care! He will come, nothing we can do. When we can catch Massa, we are a danger.”
Team: “OK. Let’s go get him then.”
Hamilton is told that a podium is on the cards
Team: “Currently P5 at the moment. We are chasing a podium.”
Grosjean is informed of his penalty
Team: ”Box now, Romain. Box now. We have a 10-second penalty, box now.”
Grosjean: “For what?”
Team: “For the Ocon incident.”
Grosjean: “You must be kidding me!”
Vettel celebrates win
Team: “Yes, we won it. We won it. Great drive.”
Vettel: “Woo-hoo. Grazie ragazzi grazie. Forza Ferrari."
Alonso is pumped up about 2018
Team: “OK Fernando nice race. P8. Almost had him.”
Alonso: “Yeah very good. We definitely deserved the points today. Deserved the points many times but today we achieve it. Obviously with a normal speed we could finish top five, top four easily. So next year’s going to be fun.”
Team: “Yeah mate. Great race and a great weekend.”
Massa has an emotional exchange of words with his son
Massa: “Caramba! Vamo! Vamo ****!”
Massa’s son Felipinho: “Daddy I’m so proud of you and wherever you go I will support you. I love you. By the way I loved your start. Pai te amo.”
Massa: “Te amo. Te amo. Eu amo todos voces. Thank you I love you all. Thank you so much. I love all of you guys.”
