Nick Heidfeld:
"I am obviously very happy with this ninth position, which is my best
result since the beginning of the season. We made great
progress from the first to the second session, changing some mechanical
set-ups which improved the car considerably. Unfortunately, it is only
Friday, but I hope I will do as well again tomorrow. I am very happy to
take part in my first home Grand Prix and to wear for the first time my new
helmet specially made by Schuberth. "
Jean Alesi:
"For me, it was a good day of practice and I was able to try many different
things during the two free sessions. Now, I must
work with my engineers to prepare for tomorrow and improve the car again."
Alain Prost:
"We are truly beginning to understand our car and all the work we have been
doing for some time is bearing fruit. Even if the
difference cannot be enormous, it is in any case significant. We had
different work strategies on the two cars today which explains Jean's
position, but each of them has been able to improve the handling of his
chassis in both wet and dry conditions. So, it has been a good day's
practice considering that this Grand Prix weekend will probably be
difficult and under very changeable conditions."
