Michael Schumacher arrived at Suzuka having yesterday taken part in a Bridgestone press conference. Once at the track, he again met with the media.
Michael said he really liked the Suzuka circuit. "It is one of my favourite tracks, because it has a mix of demanding corners and their characteristics make it special. I like driving here," continued the German. "Apart from requiring very careful work on the set-up, talent and driver ability are also very important and with many of the drivers having those skills, it will be a tough race. Last year we did a great job and I just hope we can repeat that."
Ferrari has achieved some amazing results this season. The world champion was asked therefore what were his goals for this weekend and above all, if he still found the racing fun. "Our aim? It's very simple -- we want to win! As I have said many times before, our motivation never diminishes. As for fun, there are different types. After taking the title, I really enjoyed Spa for example and I hope the same applies here."
Michael was also asked about the reaction of the American fans after the United States GP. "It is not always possible for everyone to understand our actions, but in any case we had the support of a lot of people," was his response. But was it a misunderstanding between him and Rubens? "Maybe, but that's not the point. Two Ferraris finished first and second and that's what matters. Rubens achieved his aim of finishing second in the Drivers' classification. Here, therefore everything is in place for a great race and I really hope we can give Bridgestone a win to celebrate their one hundredth Formula 1 Grand Prix."
