Team RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS began a four-day test at Valencia, Spain today, in preparation for next week's Monaco Grand Prix at Monte Carlo. Nick Heidfeld had a difficult start with minor problems initially, but recovered strongly in the afternoon to set the second fastest time of 1m 14.84s. TIMES AT 17:10 pm

Remi Decorzent (Race Engineer)
"This is a very important test for us, prior to Monaco. Our primary focus today was tyre selection for the next race, which has a similarly low-grip surface to Valencia. Today we did some aerodynamic work for high-downforce runnning for Monte Carlo and medium-downforce work for Montreal. We will work tomorrow on refinement of our traction and launch control systems, and on power steering. Nick Heidfeld did only 10 laps this morning because of myriad sensor problems. We are pleased with the performance we were able to show after that."

Nick Heidfeld (Driver)
"After the disappointment at the start in Austria last weekend I was very keen to get down to some positive test work today. I am very pleased with my best time, which represents the fastest-ever lap here for Team RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS."
