VILLENEUVE STAMP UPDATE

The wheels of Canadian government move slower than a Minardi with four flat Goodyears. But in the spirit of the late great Ferrari driver, we press on.

I need your help:

I would like to get copies of stamps from around the world where the image is of car racing, and more specifically, of a racing driver. Any driver, Any country. Do you live in a forgotten African nation that has issued a stamp in memory of Senna, Nuvolari, Rindt, Brabham? Send it. Do you live in Brazil where stamps may have been issued in honor of the many great drivers from that country? Send a copy of as many as you can. Are you in Italy or England or France? Are there stamps for Mansell, Clark, Lauda, de Portago ? Please send what you can to:

Villeneuve Stamp Project c/o Pierre Bourque 703-40 Boteler Street Ottawa, Ontario CANADA K1N 9C8

I will do the following with what I can get from you, the Internet racing community:

a) I will make sure that the decision makers at Canada Post and the political forces in our country are made aware of how famous racing drivers have been treated in other countries.

b) I will scan the stamps and put them up on my Villeneuve stamp webpage (access it from http://www.achilles.net/~pierre)

ALSO, I would love your help to get this project publicized in motorsport magazines in your country. Do you have contacts at Autosprint? Autosport? Motoring News? Auto Hebdo? German mags? Dutch? Polish? South African? Japanese? Brazilian? Jamaica?

Any press clippings about this project will be added to the information being supplied to Canadian politicians and I will also scan them and put them up on my Villeneuve website, regardless of language. Foreign journalists can email me at pierre@achilles.net

Thanks in advance for your continuing support for this project. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
