The 2004 season is only just over but Mark Webber is already looking ahead to 2005; his ambition is to win the first Grand Prix in Melbourne, his home race. Webber will drive for Williams next season and said that Juan Pablo Montoya's victory with the team in Brazil makes him optimistic for the start of his own career with Williams.

"Williams have won which is fantastic," said the Australian, according to the Herald Sun. "I couldn't ask for a better start to the winter. Juan's result is a great result for the team and the team's morale over the winter, and for me too."

"But there is a long winter ahead. Melbourne will come around very quickly but we have got a lot of work to do. I can't go to Melbourne with any other ambition but to win. Williams is about winning."

"Coming second helps for the championship, but wins are bloody important and we have to be winning from the start. But Williams have been around a long time and there is a lot to be done. Plus there will be lots to change before we get to the first race."

While he's eager to get started at Williams, Webber spared a thought for Jaguar, with whom he raced the last two seasons and which is now being sold. Webber admitted his time with Jaguar had not been easy but he hopes to see the team back on the grid in some shape or form in 2005.

"My time with Jaguar has been trying, very trying, if you are an ambitious guy," he said. "But things happen for a reason and I've been very lucky after Minardi to go to them and get a Williams seat on the back of what has happened here. Jaguar have been very good to me and they are a talented bunch who deserve to be in F1 next season."
