Christian Montanari set the second best lap
Yesterday, the German Draco driver Markus Winkelhock made a fantastic performance setting the best time and today, his team-mate Christian Montanari carried out the second best lap at the steering-wheel of the new Nissan-Dallara FR3.5 car. The S.Marino's driver never run before in the Bugatti circuit, but he succeeded in setting a very fast lap, 1'22.659, near to the unofficial lap record in Le Mans. Draco Multiracing USA Team is very satisfied with the new car and with its work, as you can read in the protagonists' comments:
Mr Adriano Morini, Draco Team Owner: "I'm quite satisfied, our drivers have good potentialities. We worked hard because it's the first time that we can test the new car. We used new set of tyres, but the time wasn't the priority, we concentrated our attention on the set-up. Now "we return to base", where a part of the Team is checking the second car in view of Valencia test. The FR 3.5 debut has been satisfactory, we had to solve only a small electrical problem, but the rest, the engine particularly, was perfect."
Christian Montanari, Draco Driver, (3rd April test): "I'm satisfied with my test, this car is exceptional. We worked hard gathering important data. I'm sorry because I didn't set the best lap for my Team, but at the second lap with new tyres, there were the red flags...all the same, I always stayed in front, demonstrating that we are working very well. Now we have to analyse the data. You know, also our opponents are working hard... we have to do the best. I'm very happy with my Team, it' natural to work serenely and with professionalism".
Markus Winkelhock, Draco Driver, (2nd April test): "I'm very glad about my best lap, my Team and me deserved this result. As Mr Morini said, we didn't concentrate our attention on the time: in the morning I got the feeling with the single-seater, in the afternoon I worked on the car setting. I'm very motivated, we worked very hard and I like it. Now we'll start the training for Valencia, we have always to improve."
