Daytona24: Lexus hour six notes

LEXUS-POWERED PROTOTYPE SECOND AT SIX-HOUR MARK OF ROLEX 24

The #02 Target/Telmex Lexus-Riley driven by reigning Indianapolis 500 champion Scott Dixon has climbed into second place at the six-hour mark of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Misfortunate hit the #01 Ganassi Racing team car, though, as the car lost several laps in the pits after heading to the garage to repair a broken front splitter. Despite losing a pair of laps, the car resumed in 10th-place with 18 hours remaining.

Dario Franchitti, #02 Lexus: --My stint wasn't bad, the sun was going down at the beginning and it's always interesting as the sun comes down into your eyes. The car was pretty good actually and our pit stops have been good - we're really happy with that. We've learned a few things we can use at the end of the race, but there's a long, long way to go. We're trying not to take any risks. There was an incident in the bus stop where the GT cars went three abreast and I just stayed straight. It cost us about five seconds, but the car is still in one piece. Right now, we just need to stay on the lead lap and try to be in position to race for the win tomorrow."
