GTO: GT Open series fills 2011 calendar

GT Open Meetings Package Strengthened for 2011

FIA Formula Two and European F3 Open confirmed as main partners Abarth, Maserati, Lamborghini and Lotus trophies also present

The 2011 International GT Open will not only cast the most acclaimed GT2 and GT3 series in Europe, which will further build up on the success and steady growth experienced in its first five editions; it will also propose eight very strong racing meetings, which will be one of the season's highlights in each track visited.

As interest from other top series and mono-brand trophies to partner with the International GT Open is raising, the 2011 season will offer a very strong package in each of the eight events, giving fans throughout Europe the possibility to enjoy a full and very diverse racing programme, with plenty of excitement on the track.

As already announced, the FIA Formula Two, one of the top single-seater series for drivers on their way to the top of motorsports, will be a privileged partner as from this year, teaming up with the GT Open in almost all events. It won't be the only single-seater championship to share the calendar with the GT Open, as the European F3 Open, the sister series of the GT Open and one of the most interesting options in F3 racing, will naturally continue to be part of the schedule.

But the International GT Open has also been chosen by a number of prestigious single- make championships, such as the Trofeo Maserati, the Blancpain Lamborghini Trophy and Lotus Cup Europe, which all will be present in selected events this year, as well as the Formula Fiat Abarth, the single-seater junior formula. In addition, the International GT Open will welcome at every stop some of the most popular national series.

"We are extremely glad to see more and more premium series attracted by our events", says Jesus Pareja, organizer of the GT Open. "It is an interesting development, which proves the strength of our package."

GT Sport will announce in the forthcoming days the 2011 TV package for the International GT Open, which has been further increased and enhanced.
