Tom Luthi; a weekend to forget

The Motorcycle Grand Prix of Germany finished as it started for Tom Luthi and the Interwetten Moriwaki Moto2 Team, as Luthi crashed in lap 20 and finished the race on the Sachsenring circuit without any points. Luthi tried to overtake Anthony West, who rode in front of him since a couple of laps. But while trying to overtake, Luthi touched the rear of West's bike and this caused him to crash. The 23 years old Swiss leaves the Sachsenring circuit with disappointment, but he stays in second position in the championship standings.

After three successful races Luthi concludes the first half of the season 2010 with a very disappointing race weekend. Nevertheless he deserves the now coming summer break, as he rode with an injury during the last three Grand Prix. Now Luthi can relax and attack the second half of the season in three weeks in Brno fully refreshed and fit.

Tom Luthi - DNF:
"The weekend finished as it started and I don't want to think about it. Unfortunately I could not get any points this time, but there are more races to come and I don't think about the championship yet. Now we have the summer break and all will calm down a bit."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:
"This was a weekend to forget, I cannot and don't want to say more about it. This was the one time that all went wrong. I hope that we are back in our old shape after the summer break."

Daniel M. Epp, Rider Management:
"There are race weekends that you don't want to remember and this was one of them for Tom. The summer break is coming at the right time for the Moto2 class. Now we are looking forward to the second half of the season, which will start in three weeks in Brno."
