STECKLY TAKES POLE AND FINISHES SECOND AT RIVERSIDE

Antigonish, NS, Saturday September 18, 2010: Scott Steckly qualified the No. 22 Racing/Canadian Tire/ MotoMaster Dodge in first place, led 115 laps of the Komatsu 300 and finished in second place on Saturday night at Riverside Speedway in at Antigonish Nova Scotia.

After turning the quickest time in practice Steckly managed to maintain the fastest time in qualifying as he set a new track record with a time of 14.350 and an average speed of 83.5 mph. This was Stecklys' first pole of the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 season and the third of his career.

Afterwards Steckly commented that, "It feels really good, we always seem to have a fast car, but are just shy of the pole position". Steckly added that, "The team has worked all season to get this Canadian Tire MotoMaster Dodge running the way it is now and we are hoping for a win tonight at Riverside International Speedway."

When the green flag waived Steckly wasted no time and took over the top position, leading the first 80 laps until he took the No. 22 Canadian Tire Dodge to pit road for fuel. Steckly restarted in second place and twelve laps later he was again running in the top position.

Steckly and the No.17 of DJ Kennington battled back and forth all night for the top position. The No. 22 driver made a pass on Kennington for the lead on lap 193, but wasn't able to maintain the spot for long as the No.17 was charging hard.

On lap 215 Steckly was again leading and attempting to manoeuvre his way through lapped traffic when Kennington made a move to pass both Steckly and the lapped car to take over the lead.

Steckly gave it his all to chase down the No.17 for the lead again, but his car was not as good as Kennington's at the end and Steckly would cross the finish line in second place.

"This is a good points finish for us", commented Steckly after the race. "We had the fastest car all weekend; we just didn't have enough for the No.17 at the end."

Scott Steckly maintained third in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series point standings, only 40 points out of second place with one event remaining.

The Komatsu 300 presented by Wilson Equipment will be broadcasted on TSN on Saturday September 25th, at 2 p.m. EST.

Next up for the 22 Racing Team will be the season ending event in the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at Kawartha Speedway on September 25th.
