JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
(ON INHERITING THE WIN AFTER RYAN NEWMAN'S ENGINE FAILED) "If the Fords are going to have 20 horsepower on you, it's OK every one in a while to see one break. We were a second place car in this deal and ended up in a pretty good situation.
"I'm real happy. The Valvoline Pontiac was pretty good. It wasn't that we couldn't beat [Ryan Newman] through the corners; it was just that he smoked us down the straightaways. But, we've got to thank Hendrick Motorsports. We've got the best GM engines in the garage area."
(ON TRANSFERRING TO THE WINSTON) "I think it will be a great experience for this Valvoline Pontiac team. We're going to take advantage of it. We're just going to go out there and do the best we can. That's all we can ask. We're with an elite group. On Sundays we're pretty competitive, but these guys tonight have got a lot of experience in this deal, so we're just going to do the best we can."
(ARE YOU STILL THINKING ABOUT THE "600" ALL NIGHT TONIGHT?) "Absolutely. The '600' is really important. I mean 'The Winston' is important, too. It's very important. But in the same token we're thinking a lot about the "600." We've got to get the car dialed in a little bit better - maybe even bring a different car if we can't stay with these guys."
