Welcome Mat Out At New Egypt's Back Gate

New Egypt, NJ (March 19) -- When racers pull up to New Egypt's pit gate for the track's kick-off practice session on March 27, they'll be surprised to be greeted by a "Good Neighbor."

Under its early season "Good Neighbor" policy, New Egypt will accept a valid 1999 pit license from any track for the discounted $10 pit admission on March 27. Participants without a current license will be charged $15. Grandstand admission is free for the practice which will run from 12 noon to 5 p.m., with a March 28 raindate.

New Egypt's "Good Neighbor" policy will continue when the season officially gets underway on April 3, as the Central Jersey dirt track will honor DIRT and Bridgeport Speedway pit licenses, in addition to New Egypt licenses, for the first three weeks of competition. Pit admission is $25 with a license, $30 without.

"This early in the season, it's a good deal for the racers, as their home tracks may not yet be open on Saturday nights," stated track owner Rick Grosso, Sr. "We're giving them a place to race, with no added expense. We're hoping other speedways will extend the same courtesy to our drivers, as well."

The track would like to remind Modified competitors that the scanner communication system, allowing one-way communication from the race director to the drivers, is mandatory on opening day, April 3.
