TOP 50% FORM FROM BOTH FPR FALCONS IN OPENING BATHURST PRACTICE SESSION
October 6, 2005 - CAT FPR Falcon driver Jason Bright has set the 11th fastest lap time of this morning's opening practice session at Bathurst's Mount Panorama today. Ford Credit FPV Falcon driver Greg Ritter set a best lap time one tenth of a second behind his team mate to be placed 16th overall.
Marking the start of proceedings for the 10th Round of the 2005 Championship Series, the morning session saw two red flag periods, the most dramatic of which involved Ford driver Dale Brede who crashed heavily on the approach to Conrod Straight.
Surprisingly warm conditions greeted the teams today in western New South Wales. Leading the field in practice was Ford driver Craig Lowndes ahead of Mark Skaife and Ford's Marcos Ambrose.
FPR returns to Mount Panorama at 9:55am tomorrow for the second practice session ahead of qualifying later in the afternoon.
#6 Jason Bright - "The pace of the car is quite good, we need to improve the braking and get the car to flow better through the top of the mountain. Not a bad start to the weekend, some smaller issues to sort as well - but not anything major."
#5 Greg Ritter - "We had a tough day today. The car was very unstable at the top of the mountain and it was not easy to drive. We need to look at a few things overnight and we will improve the car for tomorrow."
FPR returns to Mount Panorama at 9:55am tomorrow for the second practice session ahead of qualifying at 2:00pm.
