KELLY RACING OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC FOR INAUGURAL OPEN DAY
First-year V8 Supercar operation Kelly Racing will open its doors to the public for the first time when it hosts its inaugural Open Day this weekend on Saturday 5 September 2009.
After establishing the new team over the off-season, brothers Todd and Rick Kelly are keen to show off the team's spectacular headquarters to fans on the first public showing of the state-of-the-art Kelly Racing facility in Braeside, Victoria.
Dual Bathurst winner and 2006 V8 champ Rick Kelly said that the entire team is excited to finally show their fans the impressive new facility, which was officially opened in March.
"Our entire team put in a huge amount of work to get our new facility up and running and we've been really keen to show it to all of our fans," said Rick Kelly.
"This is the first time the public has been given the chance to see our new headquarters, so we're encouraging fans to come along for a look around to see the result of all our hard work.
"It's rare that our great supporters get to see behind the scenes and get an insight into what happens away from the race track, so we are really excited about making our first open day a really interesting and fun experience."
Both Todd and Rick Kelly as well as Jack Perkins and international endurance driver Ben Collins will be present on the day to sign autographs and posters, with pit stop demonstrations, a 'Show 'n Shine' competition, workshop tours, jumping castle and other activities on the day.
Kelly Racing will also open the doors to its impressive merchandise store on the day, allowing fans to purchase their own jackets, caps, shirts and other items.
And of course, fans will get a close look at the team's 630-horsepower V8 Supercars.
Entry is by Gold Coin donation, with proceeds aiding Kelly Racing's official charities -- the Starlight Children's Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Save-A-Dog.
Doors will open to the public from 8am until 2pm on Saturday 5 September 2009 at 8 Helen Kob Drive, Braeside, Victoria.
