Brno added to 2018 World Superbike calendar

World Superbike organisers have revealed a 13-round provisional calendar for the 2018 season, which includes a return to Brno for the first time since 2012.

Brno effectively replaces Lausitzring on the calendar, with the latter venue being converted into a testing facility after it was purchased by vehicle inspection firm DEKRA.

The other major change is the arrival of newly-constructed Argentine venue El Villicum, announced earlier this year, which takes Jerez's place as the penultimate round of the series.

As per this season, the 2018 campaign begins at Phillip Island on 23-25 February, before coming to a close in Qatar, albeit a week earlier than this year, on 25-27 October.

Brno's 8-10 June date makes it the seventh round on the calendar, while Misano and Laguna Seca have swapped places, giving the American track a late June date instead of its traditional July slot.

Lausitz's removal has also created a two-month summer break between Misano and Portimao.
