Fernando Alonso produced a scintillating drive in a ‘battle of the champions’ as he and Sebastian Vettel fought wheel to wheel for the final third of the race.
Christian Horner: “After the initial delay we elected to change both drivers onto the harder tyre for the restart, which we believed would give us more strategic options."
Felipe Massa was forced to retire after getting caught in a multi-car accident at the start that red flagged the race for nearly an hour.
Nico Rosberg was forced to retire.
A wide variety of potential strategies predicted: Two stops most likely.
Due to a penalty from the Austrian Grand Prix, Esteban Gutiérrez will start from 20th on the grid.

Rosberg was able to retake pole just as the checkered flag flew on the session Saturday.

Between two and three pit stops expected if it is a dry race P Zero Orange Hard and P Zero Medium tyres well-suited to the high-speed demands of Silverstone.

Fernando Alonso was third again today, while in the other F14 T, Kimi Raikkonen ended up ninth.

Daniel Ricciardo: “Today hasn’t been too bad. Mercedes were really strong this morning but we seem to have found some more speed this afternoon."
The drivers completed a total of 96 laps during today's two practice sessions.
