Mika Salo and Pedro Diniz finished in third and ninth places respectively after today's first free practice sessions for the Austrian Grand Prix.

Pedro Diniz (driver)
We did a lot of work on race settings today and the car felt pretty good. We found something in the aerodynamic set-up that has made it a lot better here; it seems much more efficient. I think it is well suited to this track, but we'll see for sure tomorrow.

Mika Salo (driver)
That was a good session for us. The car was fine, no problems at all and the driveability is now so much better. I worked mainly on mechanical and engine settings today and the RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS C19 responded well to every change that we made. I'm happy with the way things are going.

Peter Sauber:
During our test at Silverstone last week we worked very hard on improving the driveability of the C19 and the results have been pleasing today. It is much better and we have been able to work step by step on set-up. We have to temper our enthusiasm by reminding ourselves that this is only Friday, but it is a positive start to our weekend and a nice present for Red Bull in Austria.
